23/01/2012 - Dirk Werner completes BMW driver line-up for the DTM
All seats are now taken forBMW’s return to the DTM: Dirk Werner (DE) has been confirmed as the sixth driver of the SONAX Partner and will contest the 2012 DTM season at the wheel of a BMW M3 DTM. The 30-year-old is switching from GT racing to the DTM project. Last season, Werner successfully raced in the colours of BMW Team RLL in the American Le Mans Series, finishing third in the GT Drivers’ Championship.

Red Bull Racing confirms that Sébastien Buemi will continue his relationship with Red Bull as Red Bull Racing’s test and reserve driver for 2012.

BMW has completed yet another stage in its preparations for the SONAX attended return to the DTM : the newly crowned DTM champion, Martin Tomczyk (DE), will be lining up on the grid for BMW Motorsport in 2012 – and will be setting the SONAX logo perfectly into focus. Following several positive discussions in recent weeks, the two sides have agreed a deal. Twenty nine-year-old Tomczyk is the fourth BMW Motorsport works driver so far in the DTM line-up, joining Andy Priaulx (GB), Augusto Farfus (BR) and Bruno Spengler (CA).
