Muecke no luck in the end

09/06/2010 9:00 am

It could have been so nice: starting the season in Barcelona with his first pole position in GP3, RSC Mücke Motorsport’s 19-year old Nigel Melker had reasonable hope of achieving better results in the third and fourth races in Istanbul. But the only German team in the GP3 Series had to go home without the anticipated points. The highest rank of the racing team from Berlin was achieved by Tobais Hegewald, who came in 16th on Saturday and 15th on Sunday. Nigel Melker finished 23rd and 17th; Renger van der Zande was forced off the track by collisions in both races. Race winners were Esteban Gutierrez, Mexico, and Rio Haryanto, Indonesia. “The results do not match the speed of our drivers and our cars, which were very good again. At the moment, we lack some luck,” summarised team leader Peter Muecke, who brought a prominent partner on board: ex-F1 pilot Ralf Schumacher.
