Team RSC Mücke Motorsport shines with SONAX

02/08/2011 9:14 am

RSC Mücke Motorsport from Berlin supported by SONAX came back with mixed feelings from the GP3 Series’ fourth race in Silverstone, which was held in the scope of the main programme of Formula 1 Grand Prix of Greta Britain. Racing in the rain on Saturday, the British RSC-Mücke pilot Luciano Bacheta came in fifth, thus achieving the best placing in his season so far and with it the first points. The next day did not bring the hoped for success – he ended up 19th. Bacheta's colleagues in Peter Mücke’s and Ralf Schumacher’s team competed in two furious catch-up races from the end of the field of 30 and came in on positions eight (Nigel Melker) and 13 (Micheal K. Christensen). Both had dropped out the Saturday race after a collision in the first lap.

“Overall, we are well up the field, but we are not yet there where we want to be,” team Principal Peter Mücke said. After the first half of the season, the racing stable is on position three of both the team rankings and the driver standings with Dutchman Nigel Melker. The second half shall be better. “After all we want to win the championship in both the driver and the team rankings.”

After 15 races, the same Nigel Melker as well is third in the Formula 3 Euro Series with his Dallara Mercedes. One victory and two point scoring positions were the results of RSC Mücke Motorsport at the fifth season station within the scope of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) on the Norisring in Nuremberg. Run 13 on Saturday morning generated the season’s third victory for the racing team from the German capital and Nigel Melker. But also in the rookie series ADAC Formula Masters, Mücke Motorsport has an iron in the fire: with a lead of 30 points, Pascal Wehrlein, supported by the ADAC Sports Foundation and the Deutsche Post Speed Academy, is mid-season champion.
