Spring Cleaning for the Wheels

Now is the time (at the latest) as spring approaches, to take a closer look at the wheels. Has winter left its traces, in the form of dirt and deposits? It looks awful and can damage the rims – So: Get that dirt off now.

Important for cleaning the wheels: For best results use a highly effective, acid free rim cleaner such as the SONAX Xtreme Rim Cleaner full effect. Aggressive products that contain acid may be cheaper, but they can induce corrosion on the wheel mounting bolts and other metal parts. Simply spray on the cleaner and leave it to work in. Work on really stubborn dirt deposits with a soft brush, if necessary. Rinse off afterwards, wipe dry, and make sure there is no residue stuck to the rims.

For a great finish, the rims should now be sealed – either the classical way with hard wax or, even better, with the SONAX Xtreme Wheel Rim Coating Nano Pro. The modern approach to sealing the rims, with Nano Effect, is easily applied – and all surfaces are treated the same way.

Lacquered metal alloy rims, stainless steel, chromed or polished rims can all be sealed. After the rims have been thoroughly cleaned, spray on the wheel rim coating and use a polishing cloth to distribute it evenly. Within one hour the sealant has combined with the surface of the rims. It produces a high gloss, transparent, protective nano coating, that is as hard as glass. Water droplets simply run off and it greatly simplifies the cleaning. Best of all: The coating lasts for weeks and it makes removing dirt a lot easier.
