New shine for "piano lacquer" – scratch removal made easy

"Piano lacquer" panels in vehicle interiors are modern and look stylish. They consist either of high gloss lacquered parts or through-dyed plastic parts, which can be adversely affected with time and through everyday wear. When scratches tarnish the image, a good polish is recommended.

For best results you can remove the scratches with the "SONAX Scratch remover for plastics". The special polish should be used with a small polishing sponge, which you can cut down to a handy size with e.g. a carpet knife, so that you can comfortably get at all corners and gaps of the parts to be polished. Apply a little Scratch remover onto the sponge and carefully and gradually polish the surface until the scratches are completely removed. Keep wiping away the residues carefully with the "SONAX Microfibre cloth ultra fine". This soft and highly absorbent cloth avoids new micro-scratches, which may be produced on the highly sensitive surfaces through the wiping off.

It is strongly recommended to tape over the gaps around the surrounding parts, so that no polish residues settle there. For this you should use an adhesive tape which leaves no residues on the material – painting tape is ideal.

Remove insects before they damage the paintwork

Insect dirt doesn’t just look nasty – it is an organic „paint destroyer“ that, especially when exposed to the sun, can cause severe damage to the paintwork. And that can prove very expensive, the longer they stick on the paintwork, the deeper the residues eat their way into the paintwork surface.
The anti-glare headlight lenses have to withstand a lot: climatic influences, UV radiation, acid rain, de-icing salt and road dirt, with time they will ensure that the plastic is matt and yellowed.
When you have a winter windscreen cleaner in the tank and a windscreen de-icer ready to hand, then you actually have the winter under control. Almost: For we continually receive queries asking how to prevent the doors from freezing shut.

What to do against „paint killers“

Insect dirt looks horrible and damages the car’s paintwork. These are organic „paint killers“ which can cause serious damage to the paintwork, particularly when exposed to solar radiation. And the longer they cling to the paintwork, the deeper the residues eat into the paintwork surfaces.

Wellness for the precious metal

Although the dirt is not as noticeable on dark lacquered rims, nevertheless they ought to be regularly cleaned, just like the rims in classic design, before those beautiful wheels are attacked by aggressive dirt contamination.
