Off with the grime!

In this season a thorough washing of the car is called for. A frequently asked question from car fans is: Which is best, a manual washing or a trip through the automatic car wash?

Answer:  Both are good, when certain rules are observed. But a carwash in an unkempt installation with dirty brushes can cause as much damage as manual washing with a dirty sponge. That’s because dirt particles can scratch the paintwork. However, in the carwash installation a lot of water is used, which reduces the danger of scratches somewhat. And if the installation works with high a pressure pre-wash, the coarser dirt is removed before the brush wash program.

The manual wash is especially thorough – and with the sponge you get into corners, which are otherwise not so easy to reach. Important: First remove the coarser dirt from the car with a powerful water jet, in a self-service car wash, for example. It is best to treat the wheels before the wash, by spraying them with an acid free wheel cleaner, such as the SONAX Wheel cleaner full effect.

For the perfect manual wash, you will need a bucket of water, a SONAX Multi sponge and the correct car shampoo. A superior product like the SONAX XTREME Shampoo 2 in 1 Wash & Dry, gets off the grime, bit is gentle on the paintwork’s wax coating. Start at the top and work downwards, making sure to continually wring out the sponge to free it from dirt. Try not to stir up the detached dirt particles in the bucket! Now rinse off once again with clear water – It‘s, clean.

The car shampoo with built in dryer

A great invention: The new SONAX XTREME Shampoo 2 in 1 Wash & Dry with „built in dryer“. With it you gently remove the dirt and save yourself the trouble of wiping dry. Add a capful of „2 in 1“ to the watering can or bucket of clean water and distribute over the entire car. The visible drying effect is amazing: The water evaporates without residue on the windscreen or paintwork. The result is a dry and glossy surface, without streaks. The car is now ideally prepared for the thorough polishing, which every car is due after the winter.
